Wilder Tip – The Art of Leadership

“Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it,” per Dwight Eisenhower.  If you are finding that people under your command are reluctantly obeying your orders, or not at all, it may be time for another leadership style.  Here are three suggestions for changing your leadership style:

  1. Clearly convey the mission and how they fit into that mission.

  2. Listen to their ideas on how to accomplish the mission.

  3. Create an enjoyable work environment.

These may be oversimplified suggestions to complex matters, and there are other proven methods, but I’ve seen many “leaders” become great leaders through changing their leadership style.  You can too.

Let me know your experience with leadership and what is working and what is not.

Cheers!
